Mirfa Independent Water and Power Plant

The Mirfa Independent Water and Power Plant (IWPP) will be a Power and Water Desalination Plant with a total combined net power capacity within the range of 1,400 and 1,600 MW of power generation and a total combined net water capacity of 52.5 MIGD located, on the Arabian Gulf coast, at Mirfa, approximately 160 km West of the city of Abu Dhabi in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi (U.A.E.).

Ansaldo Energia, as a member of the Consortium (Hyundai Hyundai Engineering & Costruction /Ansaldo Energia), has to develop Engineering to Procure and Manufacture its Scope of Work (SOW) and provide Technical Assistance, during construction and commissioning phases, to Consortium partners.

The new Independent Power and Water Producer (IWPP) Mirfa plant project comprises New Facilities and Repowering. New Facilities, comprise a greenfield combined cycle power generation plant (New Power Plant) adjacent to the Existing Mirfa Plant also supplied by Ansaldo Energia; a greenfield reverse osmosis seawater desalination plant with a total net capacity of 30 MIGD; four greenfield open cycle GT Units with a net power output of 360 MW (90 MW each), the New Shared Facilities. HALMAX GROUP designed and built four Exhaust Ducts for FR9 Turbines.
